Marina di Pisa: the agreement for the realization of the park in the area “La Camilla” has been signed today

The Municipality of Pisa and the company OLT Offshore LNG Toscana signed today the agreement for the realization of an equipped park in the area “La Camilla” in Marina di Pisa. It is a very significant action for the territory of Pisa, that will involve the area “La Camilla” as subject of an important requalification intervention both environmental, thanks to the planting of three different kind of native species, and social, since the area up to now was in a state of decay and abandonment.

This project aims to promote environmental education to children through play. The area “La Camilla”, much visited by citizens, is adjacent to the town forest, next to sport facilities and located next to another playground for babies. The project will be developed on three environmental themes that characterize the littoral zone: the forest, the dunes and the sea. Within each area there will be playground equipment to allow children to interact through the game with different natural environments. Kids will live, for example, the experience of the tree house, they could climb trees or experience the feeling of swaying in the ocean. Within the area there will be some information boards, concerning the environmental emergencies of the Regional Park ‘Massaciuccoli Migliarino San Rossore’, furnished with benches and recycle bins.

The agreement is part of the environmental compensations in accordance with the EIA Decree related to the project of the regasification terminal “FSRU Toscana”, off the coast between Livorno and Pisa. The works for the realization of the park, financed by OLT with a contribution of one hundred thousand euro, will be organized by the Municipality of Pisa through a public tender. The finalization of the work is scheduled in two years from the delivery of the project.
