The tender for the Peak Shaving service of the Terminal “FSRU Toscana” will be launched on October 6th 2014

The company OLT Offshore LNG Toscana announces that on October 6^th 2014 will be launched the tender for the Peak Shaving service for the second consecutive year. Starting from October 6^th 2014 to November 5^th 2014 it will be possible to view and download from the website of the company (www.oltoffshore.it) all the documents useful to participate to the public procedure through which the subjects available to supply one or more LNG carriers will be identified. The first unloading operation will be done, with reference to the first LNG carrier, by December 31^st 2014 for LNG volumes between 60.000 cubic meters and 100.00 cubic meters.

The Peak Shaving service is one of the emergency measures established by the Decree of the Ministry of the Economic Development within the “Emergency Plan” to face unfavorable events for the national gas system, which could happened during the winter period of the thermal year 2014-2015, and to guarantee the security of the Italian Gas System. In case of emergency, this service would allow, starting from January 1^st 2015, to insert gas in the network – previously unloaded and stocked into the tanks of the Terminal – at short notice with the aim to face peak requests of the gas system for a limited period of time.
