The Livorno regasification project goes ahead without interruption in accordance with the planned timings and arrangements
The ruling of the TAR, the Regional Administrative Court of Tuscany, reveals only a procedural defect which will be overcome shortly through the issue of the state concession by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Appeals on security and environmental grounds are rejected.
Livorno, 31 July 2008 – OLT Offshore LNG Toscana S.p.A. – whose key shareholders are the Iride Group 30.5% (broken down between IRIDE Mercato 27.2% and ASA Livorno 3.3%), the E.ON Group 30.5%, Golar LNG 16% and OLT Energy Toscana S.p.A. 23%, with regard to the rulings made yesterday by the Tuscany TAR, wishes to emphasize that the works for the completion of the offshore terminal off the Livorno coast will continue without any interruption and in accordance with the planned timings and arrangements.
The Tuscany TAR has rejected all the arguments adopted for the appeals put forward by Greenpeace and the Citizens’ Committees relating to the presumed danger of the plant and its unsuitability for the site.
