Employees safety on board the plant
OLT has assigned to ECOS the facilities management and maintenance of its floating regasification terminal. ECOS is a joint venture between the consortium Exmar Ship Management – international group operating in the transportation of LNG – and Fratelli Cosulich – an Italian company that has been operating for more than 150 years in the shipping business .
The management of the terminal will be guaranteed by the experience of Exmar Ship Management, which has a considerable experience in transportation of LNG by sea, LNG regassification on board ship-terminals similar to the FSRU, transfer between two LNG carriers (Ship to Ship) and in oil terminals offshore management (FPSO). In finalizing this agreement, company kept particular attention to comply with the restrictive national and international standards concerning LNG, safety and the environment.
The operational staff attended a full and specific program of familiarization and training, which ensured the most efficient and safest operation of the Terminal.
The Terminal, ECOS and its staff operates in accordance with the maritime industry regulations of reference in force (Floating Regasification Storage Unit) as with Seveso law and Testo Unico Ambientale, being at the same time subject to an integrated management system for quality, security and environmental protection (ISM, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) that is certified by third party bodies internationally recognized. Furthermore, they must be in compliance with permits and authorizations issued by the Authority as to non-maritime regulation.
