Authorizations and Constructions

The regasification Terminal FSRU Toscana arrived in Italy on July 30th  2013 and it was moored to the seabed through 6 anchors previously installed. Then it was connected to the undersea pipeline, completed by Snam Rete Gas. Following the commissioning phase, on December 20th 2013 OLT started its commercial activities.

May 26th

Decree of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE), in agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) and the Tuscany Region, which authorizes OLT to increase regasification capacity up to about 5 billion standard cubic meters per year (previously the limit was set at 3.75 billion standard cubic meters). The same Decree also increases the number of berths for Small Scale LNG service up to 122 per year.

December 27th

EIA Decree by which the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) issued a positive environmental compatibility assessment about the increase of regasification capacity up to about 5 billion standard cubic meters per year and the increase of berths for Small Scale LNG service.

Integrated Environmental Authorization (IEA) for the operation of the Terminal issued by MATTM.

2020
October 8th

Decree of the Ministry of Economic Development, in agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Tuscany Region, by which OLT was authorized to carry out modifications to the Terminal in order to be able to offer SSLNG service.

July 27th

Determination of exclusion from the environmental impact assessment procedure for Small Scale LNG service.

Final Commissioning Authorization for the operations of the Terminal issued by the Ministry of Economic Development after the conclusion of the activities by the Commissioning Committee.

April 14th

Authorization of the Harbour Master of Livorno for the mooring to the Terminal of “New Panamax” vessels, with capacity limits authorized by the Ministry of Environment with measure prot. 0398 of 9/11/2015.

November 9th

Exclusion of the application of the procedure of Environmental Impact Assessment for the increase in the limit of capacity of carriers that can approach the terminal up to 180,000 m3 as well as the increase of the thermal gradient related to the seawater necessary for the regasification up to a hourly average value equal to -6.0 ° C, while maintaining a same quantity of annual frigories. Measure of the Ministry of Environment prot. no. 0398.

June 23rd

Authorization to receive LNG carriers with a capacity up to 200.000 m3 issued by the CTR.

March 17th

Final Commissioning Authorization for the beginning of operations of the Terminal issued by the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports after the conclusion of the activities by the Commissioning Committee.

2014
April 2nd

CTR acknowledged complied the prescriptions concerning the Final Safety Report.

January 29th

Ordinance no. 06/2014 issued by the Harbour Master of Livorno that approved and made operative the Regulation of the Terminal’s activities.

Authorization for the beginning of Provisional Exercise of the plant issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transports, on the basis of the Memorandum of the Local Commission.

July 19th

Ordinance for the safety of the navigation no. 137/2013 issued by the Harbour Master of Livorno in order to define the areas where navigation is forbidden.

Approval of the Final Safety Report with “Conclusive Technical Opinion” by the CTR

Exclusion of the application of the procedure of Environmental Impact Assessment for the design’s update related to the typology of LNG carrier compatible with the Terminal and the related number of ships approaching the Terminal with measure of the Ministry of Environment prot. no. 23515.

June 14th

Request of offshore land concession variations – OLT and Snam Rete Gas (SRG) signed the Supplementary Act no. 472 with which SRG took over from OLT to the Sea Grant related to the pipeline.

Exclusion of the application of the procedure of Environmental Impact Assessment for the changes improved on the Terminal during the phase of Executive Engineering (2010) with measure of the Ministry of Environment prot. no. 25280.

2009
June 21st

the “Golar Frost” entered the shipyard Drydocks World Dubai (DDWD) to start the unit’s conversion works into a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit.

May 11th

Permit for the Movement of the seabed for the laying of the pipeline in the floodway and of the anchors by the Province of Pisa and following update (2012).

Offshore Sea Grant for the occupation of the offshore area where the unit is located and the area occupied by the subsea pipeline connecting the unit to its arrival point onshore.

July 2nd

Purchase of the LNG carrier “Golar Frost” by OLT Offshore.
